Beyond what I asked Him for...

Today was Hamburger Wednesday and I saw God answer my prayers beyond what I asked Him to do. About a month ago, I realized that before I can reach the young men here with God's Word, I have to build a trust with them, they have to see that I truly care about them. God gave me the idea to begin cooking hamburgers for them every Wednesday in order to reach and soften their hearts. For a while, there were no guys were near my apartment so I couldn't let them know I was making food. There were always guys hanging out about one building away from mine, but I was afraid that if I walked up to them then they would be embarrassed by me or feel like I was getting in their space. But after a friend encouraged me to be bold with them, for the past two weeks I have been walking right up to them and asking them if they want burgers. The response has been so much better! I usually make 6 burgers and most of the time only 2 or 3 get eaten. But yesterday, I got to give all 6 away to 6 different guys, plus 2 more guys came to my door asking for a burger, but I had already run out. Praise God! Most of them are so thankful. And one of them said that I made the best Kool-Aid they had tasted. Hahahaha, I love it, whatever it takes to reach them! The plan right now is to keep it as a first come first serve basis, to see which guys come on a weekly basis. This way, I will be able to see whose hearts are open to JESUS and begin sharing a little bit at a time with them. My heart is burdened for these young men, to see them long for JESUS and begin to see that God has a BEAUTIFUL future for them.
