Called to pray...

After school today, two girls came by my apartment. One of them told me with a huge smile on her face, "I can't wait to come to prayer tonight, I've been thinking about it all day." WOW, I thought, thank you JESUS! This got me stirred up and excited! This girl truly prays out the heart of God with boldness. Whether she is aware of it or not, I have seen her be led by the Holy Spirit many times and it is so rewarding to watch. Two hours later she showed up for Hiding Place prayer and Bible study and she was a different girl than the one I had seen two hours earlier. She seemed mad and distant. We kept asking her what was wrong and if she needed to talk, but she said nothing was wrong. We went through with Bible study and prayer and she really didn't join in like she usually does. When we were giving the kids hugs as they left, I had to ask her again if she was ok. She ended up sharing with us that when she was on her way to my apartment some girls were laughing at and making fun of her. Right away I knew this was an attack planned by the devil to divert her from receiving and participating that night in what God had for her. I warned her that the devil sees the call of God on her life to pray powerfully and wants to do anything he can to stop her. She listened and agreed. Next week, I plan to pray ahead of time for the kids who come that nothing will stop them.
