Small detours...
Most mornings that I prayer walk, God has me go on small detours. They are always worth the extra time and I get to chat, pray or spend a little time with the people who live in the neighborhood with me. Sometimes it will be a detour in the topic that I'm praying about, depending on what I see going on in the neighborhood as I walk. Today the small detour was a trip to the nearby corner store. I saw an elderly lady, who I will call Ms. Ellie, walking to the store to buy some snacks, so I walked along with her. She was so enjoyable to be with. She shared with me that she works 20 hours a week at another housing project in the city working with the kids at their after school program. She said that she is an "Adopted Grandparent." How cute! She shared with me how the program works and how much she loves it. I walked her back to where I had met up with her and gave her a hug. She thanked me for walking with her, but really I was the one who ended up being the most blessed. I'm praying for more small detours that will end up turning into BIG BLESSINGS.
