Can I go with you?

Yesterday I was able to see some of the fruit of 8 years of pouring into a one of the girls here. I have always showed interest in this girl's life but have been pursuing her more than usual over the past few months. Yesterday I texted her to tell her I missed her. I have told her this many times before, but yesterday was the first time she wrote me back and said she missed me too. Whoa! I couldn't believe it! After that I texted her and asked her the next time she would be at the neighborhood center a block away. I go up there to watch the boys play basketball and noticed she was there the last time I went. She wrote back and said that she was there now and asked when I was coming next. I told her I wasn't sure. But then, the most amazing thing happened. Show wrote back and said, "Can I go with you the next time you go to the center?" I read it and my jaw dropped. This may not seem like a big deal, but this was a VERY big deal! Because for 8 years I have been asking her questions like this. I have been the one making the effort to spend time with her and build a relationship with her. But this time, she was the one making the effort. WOW! All the effort over the years has been worth it!
