Mentoring the girls...

About once a month, I spend time with 3 girls in the neighborhood. God has put these 3 girls on my heart to mentor. Sometimes they will help me run errands and other times we just go do fun things together. These times with the girls have been an open door to their hearts. This last time, two of them came and we went to pick up things for the ministry, shopped at Walmart looking at Christmas decorations and afterwards went to have coffee together. As we sat and talked, towards the end of the conversation, these girls opened up and began sharing with me about their home life. I have known both of them for years, but that night, I was able to see a little bit more into their world. I opened up a bit and shared about how the Holy Spirit helped me through my teen years growing up and they just listened intently. I encouraged them to begin running to God when things get hard at home. That night was a precious night and God once again tore down another wall that surrounded their hearts.
