My friend...
There is a man who has been homeless for a couple years now who hangs out near John DeShields. I will call him Mark. He is a very kind man, but he has many problems. He was diagnosed with schizophrenia. I don't take this diagnosis completely to heart, because I know how terribly the devil torments people's minds. He is also an alcoholic. Several times a week he stops by my apartment in the mornings. I step out on my porch to talk to him and close the door behind me. He stops by to let me know of things going on in his life or just to check on me to see how I'm doing. One morning, he stopped by and said that he had some extra change. He wanted to know if he I wanted a soda from the corner store. I said no, but thanked him. One morning it snowed. I walked out to my car and the snow was mostly scraped off. I didn't know who did it. Later Mark stopped by and apologized for accidentally scratching my back window. I didn't know what he was talking about. He had come by early in the morning and used a milk crate to scrape the snow off of my car. He kept apologizing, but I told him I couldn't even see a scratch, but that was very kind of him to be honest with me about scratching my window. Sometimes he will stop by to ask what I think he should do about certain things in life, like which homeless shelter he should go to. Today, was the most exciting visit because he had some good news! He said that he is now staying at a mental health clinic for homeless people and he is going to take a culinary arts class in March. THANK YOU JESUS! I regularly pray for God to continue to soften His heart and make him hungry for deliverance from alcoholism and schizophrenia. I believe He will soon be FREE!
