You gotta take care of those who take care of the hood...

As we were preparing lunch today, I noticed a young man yell at some other guys across the parking lot. He said, "Yeah, they may be beautiful, but don't talk about these ladies like that. They are out here doing good and you shouldn't be talking about them that way." Obviously they must have been talking about us inappropriately. He chatted with us and we learned a little about his life. After we served the food, he had about 10 loaves of bread that he got from the bread guy who delivers to the corner store. He handed me two bags and said, "You gotta take care of those who take care of the hood." I tried to tell him that he could give them to someone else who may need it more, but he insisted and then gave me an extra bag. I didn't want to disrespect his generosity, so I took all of them and said we would find something to use them for.
