Dreams...
This afternoon, two boys came to the Hiding Place where we prayed for the people of John DeShields. We prayed that we would begin to see people pursuing their dreams instead of selling drugs or working at a job they hate. I believe that God created each one of the people in this city for a specific purpose, one that makes them feel alive and full of joy as they do it. I prayed over the two boys families that they would begin taking small steps of faith towards the dreams that God has created them to do. Afterwards they both prayed for my family as well. I know that when these kids pray things change. I have seen it time and time again. For example, on August 26th, a man raped 3 women in a neighborhood about 10 minutes from here. After it happened, they had no idea where he was and couldn't find him. They didn't even know his name. The only clue they had was something the man told the women about some deaths in his family. On September 2nd, one of the girls at the Hiding Place prayed that the man would be found and convicted. About a week later I was reading archived articles in the newspaper and saw that they had already arrested the man on September 3rd, the day after she prayed. THANK YOU JESUS! I can't wait to continue seeing God answer the prayers of these kids as they pray with simple, non-religious, childlike faith.
