Opening up...

I have been doing the Teen Ministry for 3 years now and two weeks ago, one of the kids said, "Why don't we ever see you drinking, smoking or cussing?" I giggled and told him, "You don't see me doing it because I don't do it, but that doesn't mean that I'm perfect or that I didn't used to do some of those things." At that moment I realized that these kids really don't know us or anything about our testimonies. That night I decided that we as leaders needed to share our testimonies with the kids in our Life Line Groups. We did that last night. As we shared with them how we came to JESUS, the past we came out of and what we currently struggle with, they opened up, laughed with us and laughed at us. :) I believe this gave them some hope, that they do not have to be perfect for God to use them or LOVE them.
