A call from jail...
I was cleaning up from the hamburger mess and my neighbor's little girl knocked on my door. Her Mom handed me the phone and said that it was her oldest daughter calling from jail. She has been in jail for about 8 months now for armed robbery and has a court date on Monday. I haven't talked to her since she got put in jail and really didn't talk to her much before that because she just never really respected me. But today she wanted to talk to me and for me to pray for her. She was scared about her court date. As I was talking to her, I couldn't believe that she was coming to me, considering how she never really respected me before. I encouraged her to be completely honest and tell the judge exactly what happened. And that when she does this God will be able to get on her side, defend her and have mercy on her even if she does end up having to spend some time in prison. God keeps giving me connections with prisoners or letting me find out who is getting put in jail. It's interesting, because all of the years that I have dreamed about doing full time ministry, I never would have thought I would be ministering to prisoners.
