God gave him 5 dollars...

This morning I was prayer walking and a guy who came for a hamburger last Wednesday for the first time, stopped me to ask a question. He went on to tell me that he was 21 years old and homeless. He said that he has been hopping from one place to the next. I have seen him around the neighborhood several times and specifically at a woman's apartment, so I was hesitant to believe that he was really homeless. As he proceeded, he said that he hadn't been to sleep in a while and was just looking for a place to sleep. He asked if I could give him $5 to help pay for a hotel room, so he could get some rest. I mentioned to him that I have seen him at a ladies' apartment before and asked why he couldn't go there to sleep. By the way he responded, I could tell that for whatever reason, things were not ok between him and the woman. He said that he couldn't go there. I told him that I don't usually give out money to people and I didn't even have $5. But, I told him that we could pray together for God to provide it. I prayed and said, "God you are his Source and you even made the gold. We ask you and believe you that you will either provide him this money or a place to sleep. In JESUS' name amen." He truly looked exhausted and my heart just went out to him, because I know how I feel when I'm tired. We went our separate ways and I stayed out walking longer than usual. On my last lap as I turned the corner, I SAW A 5 DOLLAR BILL LAYING IN THE GRASS! In all of the mornings I have been out prayer walking, I have never found money, except for pennies. :) I walked quickly to my apartment and wrote a card to him and put it and the $5 along with 50 cents in an envelope. I walked across the street and called him over to me. First, I asked him if he was honestly going to use this money for a hotel and not for drugs or alcohol. By the look in his eyes, in my heart I believed he was telling the truth. I explained to him what happened and that God was demonstrating His LOVE for him by miraculously giving him this $5. I explained that I added 50 cents in the envelope so he could sow part of what he received from God. And then encouraged him to give the 50 cents to whoever God put on his heart and expect a return on it. He was so thankful and I was ecstatic to have been able to see God prove Himself as OUR SOURCE.
