He makes all things NEW...
This morning as I was prayer walking, I saw a young man who I will call Manasi I see him most mornings and many times throughout the day. He is homeless, but his mother lives in John DeShields. So, since he grew up here and doesn't have anywhere to go, he just roams the neighborhood. God has given me a burden in my heart for him because he is a very troubled man. He and others have told me that he is schizophrenic, but I believe that he is suffering from some kind of demonic oppression. He is a very kind and gentle person. People in the neighborhood knew him before he began being tormented mentally. Many of them say that he was very normal and had a life, but now they just make fun of him and treat him as an outsider. But, he continues to come around here. Every time I see him my heart just breaks for him. When he sees me he calls me sister and asks if everything is going ok. There are also times that I see him and I can tell that he is being oppressed. A few days ago, someone mus have been making fun of him, so he got very angry. He was walking up and down the sidewalk near my apartment yelling things, but not at specific people. I stepped out on my porch, just to pray peace into the situation and to make eye contact with him. Sometimes, if things are not peaceful in the neighborhood, if I can make eye contact with the person who is angry or stirring up strife, it will calm down shortly. Today, he walked up to me and apologized if he said anything mean to me the other day when he was yelling at everyone. I know that the only thing that will bring Manasi's mind healing and make it new again, is the Word of God. I had one of Joyce Meyer's books that is full of scripture on any topic. I asked him if I gave it to him if he really would read it and not just set it aside. He said he would. I am believing God that His anointing on that book would draw him and as he reads it, his mind would be made new. His changed life will be a testimony to the whole neighborhood of the power of JESUS and His Word.
