Today as I was prayer walking I thanked God that He has His angels surrounding me protecting me every where I go. Lately, I have been asking God to show me the people in this neighborhood who truly are on my side, welcome me here and who have my back. I went to an apartment to give a young lady one of my sweatshirts and her step dad came to the door. I have never met him, but he said he's seen me before. We got to talking about his 16 year old son and how God had a plan for him even though he's been into a lot of trouble. I found out that he was a Christian. This is always an encouragement to find people who have a relationship with God. He asked me if I am ever afraid when I walk in the mornings. I told him, "No, because I know that God's angels surround me." He agreed. As we were ending the conversation, he said, "I saw a car pull up next to you while you were walking earlier and I waited to make sure it was someone that you knew. Then when I saw you walk over to the car, I realized you knew them. I was just looking out for you. So, yeah, God does have His angels protecting you." I thanked him, I was so grateful. God surprised me! Another thing, he was a tough guy, tall, built... someone you want to have on your side. :) I wouldn't have known this man was looking out for me, unless he told me. I was so thankful to God that he let me see that people are looking out for me. Because I don't always "feel" like people are on my side, it is so good to be reminded that there are people in this neighborhood that do care about me and are looking out for me even when I don't "feel" like they are. God is SO FAITHFUL! He LOVES us so much that He gives us His angels.
Psalm 91:11-12 (Amplified Bible) For He will give His angels [especial] charge over you to accompany and defend and preserve you in all your ways [of obedience and service]. They shall bear you up on their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone.
