On Wednesdays when we serve lunch to the the young men (ages 18-25), we write encouragement on a post it note and stick it on their chip bag. We write something different every week and the guys usually respond in some way to what was written. Some of the guys have started putting the sticky notes on their shirts after they're done eating their chips. It's so cute! In the picture is one of the young men and a volunteer. He is a regular and often helps us set up and tear down. If you look closely, you can see that he is wearing the post it note on the left side of his shirt. It says "Jesus wants to FREE you." Also, this volunteer bakes homemade cookies to serve during lunch. It's an extra special touch and I believe it ministers to the guys to have something homemade. :) God is building closer relationships with these guys. Last week, there was a tense situation that arose during lunch and one of these young men defended us. These guys are near and dear to our hearts, they feel like our own sons. Can't wait to see all the things that God brings out of these relationships!
