"I felt dirty..."
Earlier this morning as I was prayer walking I saw two girls who I have a good relationship with walking on their way to school. The younger one (age 12) who I will call Kiara, was crying. I asked her what was wrong and she said that as she was walking about 4 kids began making fun of her and calling her names. She said, "They threw sticks at me. They also threw a roach on me and when it crawled on me, I felt dirty." I told her that she is very precious and that those kids were making fun of her because they don't feel good about themselves. After we talked, I asked the girls if they would like me to drive them to school, they smiled and said yes. We got in my car and on the way there I encouraged Kiara to replace the thoughts of what those kids did and said to her with thoughts about how much God LOVES her and thinks she is wonderful. Before I let them out of my car, I prayed with them that they would have a GREAT day. The older girl mentioned to me that she needed to talk after school. I told her that I would be home and she can definitely come by. I don't always go prayer walking at the same time every day, but there are days that I may go at a different time than usual and today was one of those days. I believe this was a God appointed moment!
