Some friends opened up their home to the teens for a 4th of July Party. The kids had so much fun! They loved being able to see a beautiful home in the country, swim for 4 hours straight and shoot off fireworks in a HUGE back yard. I think the best time we had as volunteers, was simply watching the kids have a great time, laugh and just be kids. Something happens to them when they leave this place, I've seen it on their faces time and again. It's like all of their worries and burdens leave for a few hours. The tough looks turn into smiles and the walls come down. They feel free to laugh, A LOT.
