For about a month now, the guys have been asking about playing basketball after we serve lunch on Wednesdays. I have been hesitant because the last time we tried it, the guys that helped set up the hoops took off afterwards and left me and a few young teens to take the hoops down. Not a good thing because they are so heavy. Also, this time I had a volunteer with me so I was more willing to let them play because sometimes basketball can get heated and out of control. So, this time when they asked again I said no unless I knew that they would commit to help set up and tear down. They did! They played basketball for about an hour. It was so great to see the smiles on their faces! I believe basketball is a LOVE language of these young men.
