God's perfect LOVE expels fear

At the teen ministry last night, we broke into our groups and shared with the teens about how knowing God's perfect LOVE expels fear. I began to ask the kids what are some of the fears thay struggle with. One boy said, "I'm afraid I'm gonna get shot when I'm walking home and it's dark." Another boy said, "I'm afraid my Mom is gonna leave me." After they shared their fears with me, I challenged them to think about God's LOVE for them when the devil attacks them with fear. That night, my heart just broke for them, because I hear those same gun shots almost every night and even in the morning. I want them to know what I know about God's PROTECTING LOVE... that as they trust Him, He will protect them from danger.
