Restorer of this city...
Across the street from where I live was a crack house, where addicts went to smoke their drug, the homeless went for shelter, drug dealers stood on the corner and possibly a place where prostitutes did business. This house was completely destroyed and abandoned, except for the precious people listed above. Wood from the outside walls had become fire wood for the metal barrels the homeless used to keep warm in the winter. Graffiti was sprayed on the front porch. And trash surrounded the entire area. For almost a year now, I have been believing God to have that house torn down, because it simply attracts trouble and makes this neighborhood look horrible. I would drive by it, and almost every day I declared, "That house is torn down in JESUS' name." About 10 days ago, we went out of town to take teenagers to camp. When I returned and drove past the house, it was gone! It had been completely torn down and the land all around it was cleaned up. I couldn't believe it! It was God's surprise for me. :) The city ended up tearing it down because of all the trouble that was going on inside and outside of it. HALLELUJAH! Now, my dream is to own that land and eventually build an East St. Louis Dream Center building on it. A place where kids can come to feel safe and get off the streets. He is definitely a God who turns things around. He is the RESTORER of East St. Louis and will make this city NEW.
