More hungry for Him...
Just last Tuesday at our prayer time with the teenagers, our prayer was, "Thank you so much God that you have answered our pray about the number of murders in East St. Louis going down compared to last year, but Father, now our prayer is that the number of shootings would decrease." We had been praying for the murder rate to go down, but hadn't thought about praying that shooting in general would go down so people wouldn't be injured. Since that prayer time a week ago, in one Monday night/Tuesday morning, there were 8 shootings and one of those a people died. As soon as I read the articles I got so angry at the devil and then laughed at him because he's not going to win. That's usually how he works when you pray about something. At times, things will get worse before they get better. But I believe that's just his way of trying to scare us into giving up on what we are believing God for. Those shootings will not shake my faith. I know that this city is going to become less violent and more peaceful. God is going to get a hold of the hearts of the people who are involved in the violence. He is going to stir them up to where they are more hungry for God's LOVE and His Word more than they are for violence, drugs, money and sex. He's going to do it, I know He will! I can't wait to see their hearts softened before Him.
