An ANOINTED school year...

Our prayer focus for tonight was the teenagers first day back at East Side High School. It was so encouraging to hear the prayers prayed for the school and the kids who go there. East Side is a school know for it's sports, but it is also known for violence, gang activity and poor grades.
It was an intense and powerful time of prayer as we battled for the future of the kids who go to East Side. We are expecting the 2008 school year to be an ANOINTED year where old things become new. These are some of the prayers that were prayed out boldly by one of the boys who comes on a regular basis;

• Students would choose life not death
• East Side would be known for it's grades, not just it's sports
• It would be a top school

As we were praying, God gave me a word of prophecy to speak over one of the girls who was there with us. This is what I spoke over her as the Holy Spirit gave me the words, "You are a safe place for the kids who are younger than you. I want to use you to be a place where kids who don't feel accepted or feel scared can come to. They will look forward to seeing you in the halls because you are a safe place. Be an example to them and don't let what others think about you stop you from reaching out to those who feel out of place." It was such an honor to have the Holy Spirit pouring the gift of prophecy on these kids who rarely experience things like this. I am believing God for more of the gifts to flow among these kids, to use them to minister to each other in the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
