Rescued...
Yesterday a boy came by my door, he was so excited because he had just turned 18. I asked him how he was going to celebrate. He said that some of his family members were going to take him to a club. My heart broke and right away I urged him not to go because of the environment there. He seemed confused because I'm sure he's never heard that going to a club can be harmful, but I could tell he was listening. As the conversation went on, I found out that the club his family was taking him to was a strip club. I felt a holy urgency and I looked him straight in the eyes and firmly told him, "Please do not go. You are like a son to me and I feel like your Mom. I care about you. Do not go to that strip club." He almost seemed shocked but in a good way, I don't know that anyone has got in his face like that in a caring and loving way. He is pretty naive for his age and I believe that he didn't fully understand the destruction or addiction this could bring. He asked some questions and listened to what I had to say. He came by today and I asked him if he was going. He told me not to worry, that he wasn't going and didn't want to go. He was at Teen Ministry tonight and sat down next to me. He turned and looked at me and said with a smile on his face, "Mom!" I believe his stopping by my door was an appointment set up by God. God was setting up a moment for this young man to be rescued out of darkness. Thank you God!
